Ramboll is seeking a full-time Hydraulic Engineer to support our growing Chicago Illinois Sediment Management Practice.
Responsibilities are expected to include:
- Assist with development and implementation of comprehensive site investigations.
- Evaluate environmental data to support environmental fate and transport assessments.
- Provide engineering support to develop and evaluate remediation alternatives.
- Formulate conclusions and opinions and communicate with clients, regulators, and stakeholders.
Opportunities exist for cross-training in a variety of practice areas such as site solutions (contaminated lands), port and offshore infrastructure and environmental management, flood risk management, and habitat restoration and design.
The candidate(s) must have 8+ years of experience on aquatic remediation / restoration projects. An M.S. degree in civil or hydraulic engineering or fluvial geomorphology is preferred. The candidate(s) must demonstrate proficiency in and experience with fluvial, coastal, and estuarine systems. Strong written and verbal communications skills are a must. Proficiency in 1D and 2D hydrodynamic modeling is strongly desired. A Professional Engineer license is desired.
Candidates must be willing to travel and possess a valid driver’s license.
